Forest resources are managed not only for timber production but also recreation and wildlife. Prairie restoration has also become a part of forestry operations. Amana Hardwood
|
Amana Forestry harvests and kiln dries a wide variety of hardwood species including red and white oak, cherry, and locust as well as soft maple. Walnut is acquired from regional sawmills in Iowa. These products are planed to 13/16" thickness with one edge ripped, then packaged in 7 to 10 board foot bundles. Random lengths vary with maximum board length of 32".
